About the Greif:

The Sd.Kfz. 250/3 "Greif" was a light armoured half-track radio command vehicle used by the German Wehrmacht during World War II. It was one of many variants of the Sd.Kfz. 250 half-track.

The designation Sd.Kfz. 350/3 does not appear to be correct; the actual military designation is Sd.Kfz. 250/3.

Key facts about the Sd.Kfz. 250/3 "Greif":

Type: A light armoured half-track used primarily for reconnaissance and as a mobile command post.

Role: The "Funkpanzerwagen" (radio armoured vehicle) variant was equipped with extensive radio sets (specifically FuG 7 and FuG 8 or FuG 12 and 16, depending on the sub-variant) and a prominent "bedframe" or star antenna to facilitate long-range communication between forward troops and command.

Association with Rommel: This vehicle achieved historical fame as the personal command half-track of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, the "Desert Fox" and commander of the Afrika Korps. The nickname "Greif" (Griffin) was painted on the side of his specific vehicle.

Performance: The vehicle was open-topped and offered good protection against small arms fire and shrapnel due to its sloped armour. It had excellent cross-country mobility, a crucial asset in the North African desert.

Engine: It was powered by a Maybach HL42 TRKM 6-cylinder engine, capable of a road speed up to 76 km/h (47 mph).
