Tasked with SEAD missions, the Wild Weasel was the first to enter airspace to destroy their radar and SAM. To cover all the SWS F-4 series, this latest addition is a detailed reproduction of the F-4C Wild Weasel; from its exterior shape, cockpit interior, antennae, to the onboard armament. To enhance the capability for SEAD, various modifications and additions were incorporated into the F-4C.
The original F-4 was deployed all over the world and evolved uniquely in each country. As a specialized mission aircraft, the F-4C Wild Weasel performed many of the most dangerous missions during the Vietnam War. Adding this must-have model is to complete your SWS collection!
1st and 2nd designs are the F4C Wild Weasel assigned to 18 TFW/67 TFS “Fighting Cocks” at Kadena AB, Okinawa from Oct. 1969. 67TFS was deployed to Korat RTAFB, Thailand in Oct. 1972 to participated in Operation Linebacker II. The deployment to the Indochina Peninsula was only for three months and 67 TFS was temporarily placed under the command of 388 TFW and coded ZG. 3rd design is the F-4C Wild Weasel IV of 52 TFW/81 TFS, Spangdahlem AB, former West Germany in 1973. 81 TFS had twelve F-4C Wild Weasel IVs that had been transferred from the Indochina Peninsula. 81 TFS was serving NATO’s SEAD missions.
